Terms & Conditions

These terms explain how our cleaning service works, what we need from you, and how and when you pay. We've tried to keep them plain and fair — if anything is unclear, just ask.

1. Who we are

Jack & Sons Window Cleaning is a family-run window and exterior cleaning business based in Holmer Green, Buckinghamshire, serving the surrounding villages. You can reach us on 01494 314833 or at sales@jackandsonswindowcleaning.co.uk.

By booking a service through this website you agree to these terms. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.

2. How our regular service works

  • You choose how often you'd like us to visit.
  • We let you know before we're due.
  • You don't need to be home.
  • You provide safe access where it's needed.
  • We complete the clean.
  • You're charged after the service has been carried out.

3. Regular cleaning rounds

Regular window cleaning is available on approximately 4-weekly, 6-weekly or 8-weekly cycles. These are recurring cleaning frequencies, not guaranteed appointments on an exact calendar date.

We aim to attend in line with your chosen cycle. Because this is an outdoor service, some flexibility is necessary — a visit may occasionally move because of severe or unsuitable weather, unsafe working conditions, illness, holidays, vehicle problems, equipment failure, operational requirements or other events outside our reasonable control.

If we delay or rearrange a visit for our own operational reasons, you are not charged simply because your expected cleaning date has passed. For regular cleaning the rule is simple: service completed, then payment collected.

Fair frequency commitment. Our discounted 4-weekly, 6-weekly and 8-weekly rates are offered on the basis of ongoing regular maintenance, and assume a minimum of three consecutive cleans. If regular cleaning is cancelled after only one clean, that visit is treated as a one-off deep clean and the difference between the two prices may be charged.

4. Advance notice before we attend

We intend to send you advance notice before a scheduled regular clean, usually by WhatsApp, email or another method we've agreed with you. This is an attendance notification and reminder — it is not a request to re-book or reconfirm every clean, and you don't need to reply for the visit to go ahead. If we don't hear from you we'll normally attend and complete the scheduled service.

Where relevant, the reminder is a prompt to:

  • unlock any gates we need to use;
  • make sure access is safe and clear;
  • secure pets;
  • move vehicles where necessary;
  • remove obstacles from the areas we're cleaning;
  • tell us about any access problems.

Electronic messages can occasionally fail to arrive for reasons outside our control, so we can't guarantee every reminder is delivered.

5. You don't need to be home

Exterior cleaning doesn't usually need you to be at home. As long as we have safe and reasonable access to the areas included in your service, we can complete the work while you're out — you simply need to make sure any gates or access points we need are available.

6. Access and your responsibilities

You're responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the areas covered by your booked service. Where rear or side access is needed, please make sure gates are unlocked before your expected visit.

We will not:

  • climb over locked gates or force entry;
  • enter a property in an unsafe way;
  • take unreasonable risks to gain access;
  • move excessively heavy or unsafe objects.

If we attend as scheduled and part of your property can't be reached because access hasn't been provided, we may clean everything we can safely and reasonably access. We've allocated travelling time and a cleaning slot to your property, so we aren't automatically obliged to make an extra journey free of charge to finish the areas we couldn't reach; any return visit will be agreed with you.

We'll always tell you what we were able to clean and talk to you about the rest rather than leaving you guessing.

7. Pets, vehicles and working areas

Before a visit, please make sure that:

  • pets are secured where necessary;
  • dog waste and other obvious hazards are cleared from working and access routes;
  • access routes are reasonably safe;
  • vehicles are moved where reasonably needed for the booked service;
  • we know about any known hazards or unusual access restrictions.

We may postpone or decline work where conditions are unsafe.

8. Payment for regular cleaning

Regular window cleaning is not charged in advance. We attend, complete the service, record it as completed, and payment is then collected or requested using the payment method we've agreed with you. If we postpone a service, no payment for that service is collected until the work has actually been carried out.

9. Direct Debit through GoCardless

Many regular customers pay by Direct Debit. Direct Debits are set up and processed by GoCardless, an authorised third-party payment provider. Your bank details are entered securely with GoCardless and are not stored on our website.

Setting up a Direct Debit mandate simply gives us a secure way to be paid. It does not mean you're charged automatically because an expected cleaning date has arrived. For regular cleans, payment is initiated after the relevant service has been completed.

You keep the protection of the Direct Debit Guarantee and can cancel your mandate with your bank or with us at any time.

10. Weather

We work through most of the year, and light rain doesn't usually stop window cleaning where the work can still be done safely and to the standard we expect of ourselves. Severe weather, high winds, lightning, freezing conditions, unsafe surfaces or other safety concerns may mean a visit has to be postponed.

Where we postpone, we'll let you know where reasonably possible, rearrange the visit, and you're not charged for the service until it has been completed.

11. Changing, skipping or ending your service

You can ask to skip an upcoming clean, change your cleaning frequency or end your recurring service at any time by phone, email or WhatsApp. There are no tie-in contracts.

Please give us as much notice as you reasonably can, particularly on the day before or morning of a planned visit, so we don't travel to your property unnecessarily. We'll confirm any change back to you.

12. Free instant quotes and the information you give us

Free instant quotes are calculated from the information you provide, so please describe your property and the work as accurately as you reasonably can.

If the property turns out to differ materially from what was described — for example significantly more windows, a different property size, additional structures, inaccessible areas, unusually heavy soiling, incorrect measurements for pressure washing, or other undisclosed complications — we may need to discuss an adjusted price with you. We won't impose a materially higher price without telling you first.

13. First cleans

Some properties need extra time and work on the first visit, so a higher first-clean price may apply. Where it does, your quote and confirmation email show both figures clearly: the first clean price, and the ongoing price for your chosen 4, 6 or 8-week clean.

14. Service-specific points

Window cleaning. We clean exterior glass, frames and sills as part of the service. Pre-existing scratches, hard-water etching, paint or render splashes, failed or blown double-glazed units and internal misting cannot be corrected by cleaning.

Gutter clearing. We clear accessible gutters of debris and check the flow where possible, including camera confirmation where appropriate. Existing damage, loose or poorly fitted brackets, cracked joints, sagging runs and defective gutter sections may only become apparent once debris is removed; we'll report what we find. Repairs are not part of the cleaning service.

Fascias, soffits and cladding. Cleaning restores the appearance of sound UPVC. It cannot repair oxidised, faded, weathered, previously painted, cracked or brittle surfaces, and results may be limited by pre-existing condition.

Conservatory roofs. Roof panels, seals, glazing bars and older polycarbonate can be fragile. We work from ground level using appropriate equipment wherever possible and won't work on a roof structure we consider unsafe or unsound. Please tell us about known leaks or damage beforehand.

Solar panels. We use methods appropriate for panel surfaces. We don't remove panels, work on wiring or fixings, or guarantee any particular change in energy output.

Driveways, patios and pressure washing. See the section below.

Where you know about existing damage, defective fittings, failed seals, fragile surfaces or previous problems, please tell us before we start so we can work appropriately. We remain responsible for damage caused by our own negligence — nothing in these terms limits that.

15. Pressure washing: what cleaning can and can't do

Pressure washing removes dirt, algae, moss and general soiling and dramatically improves most surfaces. Some existing marks and defects cannot be removed by cleaning, including oil staining, rust, paint, cement and mortar residue, deep biological staining, permanent discolouration, and existing surface damage such as loose paving, damaged pointing, spalling concrete, deteriorated tarmac or unstable surfaces.

Cleaning can also reveal pre-existing damage that was hidden under dirt. Additional treatments and restoration work — such as chemical stain treatment, re-sanding, re-pointing or sealing — are separate from the original quoted clean, and we'll tell you the cost before carrying out any additional work. We can't guarantee complete removal of permanent staining or damage.

Larger pressure washing jobs may follow a different booking process to regular window cleaning, including reviewing the job and confirming the final price and date with you before it's secured in the diary. Where a booking deposit applies to a job, we'll tell you the total price, the deposit payable and the balance remaining before you pay anything, the deposit is deducted from the final balance, and the balance is collected after the work has been completed.

16. If something isn't right

If you're not happy with a completed clean, please tell us promptly — the same day or the day after, where possible. We'd much rather come back and put it right than have you live with a job you're unhappy about, so please give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect the work and rectify any genuine issue.

Call 01494 314833, email sales@jackandsonswindowcleaning.co.uk or message us on WhatsApp.

17. Insurance and liability

We hold appropriate public liability insurance and take proper care of every property we work on. We're responsible for loss or damage we cause through our own negligence. We're not responsible for pre-existing faults or damage, defects that cleaning reveals rather than causes, or results limited by the existing condition of a surface. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, and your statutory rights always take precedence.

18. Your information and communications

We keep the information needed to run your cleaning service and we send the messages needed to operate it — booking confirmations, attendance notifications, access reminders and payment or service confirmations. Booking a service does not sign you up to promotional marketing. Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

19. Changes to these terms and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page at the time of your booking applies to that booking. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
